Welcome to the official website for the Johnson Street Bridge Replacement Project. The 87 year old bridge connects downtown and Victoria West in Victoria, British Columbia. The new bridge will improve safety, increase transportation options and enhance accessibility.
The new Johnson Street Bridge is being built slightly to the north of the existing bridge, allowing the current bridge to remain open throughout construction. The new bridge will be complete and open to traffic by March 2016.

Note: For public safety reasons, the City of Victoria has permanently closed the rail bridge after inspections found deterioration in key steel support columns. Please click here for a map showing some alternate routes across the road bridge.
