The week of February 20, the rail bridge and 500 ton counterweight will be separated from the road bridge and carefully removed by crane and a large (100 metre long) barge. The barge will fill the channel and require closure of the navigation channel for two to three days.
Some traffic delays and temporary closures may be necessary to complete this work. Staff will work closely with the contractor to ensure that the travelling public, marine users, and neighbouring businesses and residents are kept informed.
This website will be updated regularly to reflect any travelling impacts to regional commuters. Addtional notices will be placed in local newspapers, the City’s Facebook, Twitter and through the media.
