The Johnson Street Bridge re-opened t0 traffic just before 7 p.m. Saturday. The bridge was closed to traffic for approximately 30 minutes after a power supply issue resulted in the bridge not being able to close completely after lifting to allow a marine vessel to pass below. A gas-powered backup generator was used to lower the bridge deck and re-open the bridge to traffic. The power supply issue is unrelated to the bridge electrical system. City electricians and BC Hydro have been contacted and will be assessing the issue.
